Generating leads through Facebook marketing

Our main objective for the AllBuntu campaign was to generate leads for Vendors to sign up and list their items on the AllBuntu online store.

We were given a one-month period to deliver results in order to create a lasting relationship.

 The Challenge

Challenge & Solution

AllBuntu approached us to help them launch their online marketplace, aimed at small, weekend market vendors, and utilise social media to generate leads for both sellers and buyers.

The first part of the challenge was to find people willing and eager to sell their goods on a new marketplace platform using paid social media marketing

Our first task was to craft a marketing strategy to guide our efforts and ensure anything we created would speak to AllBuntu’s business objectives of getting vendor sign-ups and attracting customers. We outlined who we would target and why and what ads we would run in order to generate the leads.

One of our recommendations was also to update AllBuntu’s branding to make it slightly more modern and more appealing to an online audience. Using existing elements of the AllBuntu logo, we were able to create a modern logo, while retaining the spirit and vision of the original.

We decided that it would be best to gather potential vendors’ information through a Facebook Lead Form and contact them with the process of signing up to become an AllBuntu vendor.

Our targeting was focused around the Cape Town area, as AllBuntu had identified this as a key area of growth. We targeted small business owners and weekend-market regulars, with messaging focused on giving vendors an additional platform to sell their goods. Taking their small business from selling at markets on weekends only, to selling full time and working with a partner who would take care of storing and shipping their products.

After the initial month, we generated 209 leads at a cost of just over R9 a lead, reaching over 50,000 people in the process.

We’re looking forward to collaborating with AllBuntu on future marketing projects.
